Course Description
- Physical Education activities such soccer, basketball, football, volleyball, badminton, kickball, four square, spike ball, ultimate frisbee, disc golf, etc.
- Health topics such as personal fitness, nutrition, safety, alcohol and tobacco, disease prevention, etc.
- Students will have designated days each week that are Health and days that are Physical Education.
- Google Classroom will be used to deliver tests/quizzes (visit our website for each coach’s class code)
Grading Procedure
- 60% → Assessments (fitness assessments, unit tests)
- 40% → Assignments (health assignments, PE activity checkpoints, fitness activities)
PE Attire Requirements
- Athletic tennis shoes only
- Crocs, slides, any type of boot, backless shoes, etc. are not acceptable for PE due to the safety/injury hazard they can potentially have.
- Students are encouraged to bring an extra pair of tennis shoes if they aren’t wearing tennis shoes to school that day.
- Students who do not have athletic tennis shoes on will be given an alternative PE assignment such as walking, push-ups & other stationary exercises, health assignments.
- Dressing out is optional (students are expected to participate in the shoes & clothes they wear to school)
Classroom Expectations
- Students are expected to actively participate in PE/Health curriculum the entire class period
- Medical excuses should be given to the coach and front office
- Bring a water bottle
- Students should demonstrate sportsmanship and teamwork at all times
- Sit down, clean up, and enter/exit locker room safely and orderly
- Follow all attendance, tardy & make-up work policies outlined in the CCBOE Student Code of Conduct handbook
Discipline Plan
- First offense – verbal warning
- Second offense – verbal warning and timeout
- Third offense – parent contact and timeout
- Fourth offense – parent contact and/or guidance referral and timeout
- Fifth offense – office referral

Mile Run Test Information
We have been preparing for our mile run for the last several weeks and the culminating test will be Wednesday, September 18. Please come dressed appropriately for the weather and for the intensity of the activity by wearing athletic shoes (no crocs, slides, boots, sandals, or dress shoes) and clothing that is school appropriate. Below is the rubric that will be used for grading.
