Georgia History
8th Grade
Welcome to Georgia History!
The curriculum for 8th Grade Social Studies centers around the study of Georgia's geography, history, and government.
We will study the following topics:
Geography, Prehistory and the Age of Exploration, Colonization, American Revolution, American Government, Westward Expansion, Antebellum Era, Civil War & Reconstruction, Progressive Era – World War I, Great Depression, New Deal,
World War II, Modern Georgia, and State and Local Government.
As we begin this school year, I hope to instill a love of history in each learner and watch them grow in this journey.
My goals for this year include: * help each student see themselves as historians * develop each student's interest in Georgia's history * provide a supportive and fun environment *help each student progress toward high school
