Marlo Leatherwood

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Harlem Middle School! We are dedicated to serving our community.  At Harlem, we believe in keeping students our priority.  All students can learn!  Teachers are equipped and empowered to operate in excellence as we ensure that students reach their full potential.  Our teachers are implementing researched-based interventions and strategies to assure that our students are prepared to achieve success.

At Harlem Middle, we offer a variety of outstanding programs and activities in order to prepare our students for a diverse and dynamic world.  Students have opportunities to participate in Cyber Patriots, Green Power Team, Academic Bowl Team, Miss HMS, HMS Idol, John Deere’s Girls in Engineering Program, Beta Club, TSA, Future Problem Solvers, Stem Class, Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Football, Tennis, Soccer, Track, Running Club, Band, Chorus, High School Credit Courses, Accelerated Math Courses, and many more.

As we embark on a new year, we invite our families out to participate in all activities as well as volunteer to help in our school.  Your support and involvement with your child’s education is very valuable to our HMS Family.  Please don’t hesitate to join us!

Home and school communication is a very integral part of our students’ success.  Please don’t hesitate to contact us about questions and clarification as needed.  Sangha, HMS Website, HMS Facebook Page, and Quarterly Newsletters will keep you aware of what is happening in our school.

I am so blessed to be a part of the Harlem Middle School Family!  I’m excited about continuing my service in the Harlem community as Principal of HMS.  Our family will provide every opportunity and the tools necessary to equip our students for success now and in the future.

I look forward to seeing our returning students and parents as well as our new students and parents.  I am here to serve you!  Again, please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
